I am an American investor in Nigeria. I paid 38,000 Naira for a boost VIP subscription on Jiji. After they received my payment via bank wire transfer, they decllined to boost my ads to the top of page. Instead, they restricted/cut back on the number of listings/ads I can have on Jiji and my ads can hardly show up on the bottom of the search result page. I tried escalate the issue to my Jiji Account manager Mr Christian, who didn't do anything to correct the isse. I aske for a supervisor, Mr John who requested for proof of bank wire transfer which I sent, but yet, he did not do anything to correct the issue. They said that their headquaters is in Ukrain and that someone from there will contact me withing 48 hours, but that didn't happen till date. I think Jiji is taking advantage of local Nigerian traders whom they perceive doesn't have the know how of online advertising. I think Jiji is a scam and rip-off marketplace. I am not suprised anyway that a democtratic country like Nigeria is running an ad business, where their headquaters is in a communist country like Ukrain. 7 September, 2020
